How homogenous should two kindergarten classrooms in the same building be represented? Might they be stacked? Could one of the classes be situated on an upper floor? In this project in order that the two classrooms are equally presented, the idea of stacking was foregone resulting in a one-story kindergarten facility that overrides the pregiven 12m x 25m rectangle. One-story means to develop the volumetry in response to the surrounding building stock, deferring to the two-story residential buildings and with the advantage of achieving a homogeneous, earthbound kindergarten facility. Considering this background, the form of the new kindergarten becomes the quasi outcome of zoning ordinances governing required distances to trees and neighbors. The resulting piece of the puzzle emerges as a fascinating form that can be easily expanded by a third unit. The existing property resources are optimally employed: the effect is a natural, beautiful wooden kindergarten in a wonderful garden that transports an image of its usage outwards.
