Through subtle positioning, beautiful directing of the light, incorporating the view of the surroundings, and incorporation of generous common spaces, this project for the new building of the St. Anna Senior Citizen Center in Lucerne aims to spatially convey principles such as “Life, Spirituality, Warm-Heartedness” of the community of the St. Anna nuns. From the outside, the project appears as a considerate neighbor through its many-cornered figure with diverse stepping elements, while the interior is flooded with light with generous spaces inviting encounter and exchange. The various demands for high-level quality in terms of architectural, ecological, functional, and economical aspects were realized with a light touch, becoming part of the project in a natural way.
