Beginning in the 1990s Schützenmatte has been slowly transformed into a contemporary sports facility. The new dressing rooms replace the wooden pavillions erected in 1932. The long one-sided structure is neatly fitted into the existing surroundings. Its prominent canopy is both a functional and a spatial element. It works as a foyer for the dressing rooms that are accessed directly from the outside. In bad weather it also shelters athletes and spectators.
