Careful analysis of the building stock revealed that it would be highly recommendable, in accordance with predefined parameters, to preserve the building substance. Following this approach, the character of two former family houses has been preserved.
All lightweight wall panels, as well as the firewall separating the buildings, were demolished to the maximal allowable extent in order to promote direct communication.
The ground floor is designed to be as open as possible. A videoconference room, a kitchenette, and a foyer protecting from are drafts are arranged in the north towards the Roche premises. In the south towards Alemannengasse, a generous, sub-dividable space has been created for multifunctional use. The two upper floors provide workplaces for sixteen employees. These are arranged along the façades. On the former attic level, a lounge area has been constructed as well as additional rooms suitable for a variety of uses.
